Calling all angel investors!
I recently made a small ticket investment in Foodstuff, an ethically-minded food delivery platform serving indie restaurants in Cambridge, Bristol and Manchester. I was already advising them on operations in return for sweat equity, mainly because of my Deliveroo background and interest in sustainability.
I think they have great potential and a viable exit strategy, and now they’re raising more funds to expand. In particular, they’re looking for angels who share their values and are prepared to put in at least £25k. I’m sure someone here fits the bill.
I’ve tagged friends with ’angel’, ’investor’ or similar in your profile but feel free to share with others. If you’d like an intro to the founders, please reach out to me.

Hey Paul – great shout out. I’m an investor at Foodstuff too and know one of the founders (Toby) well. Company is doing a great job building a delivery business with strong eco and employee welfare credentials. As the business grows it is developing a clear template to scale fast from city to city. I’d also endorse for other angels out there to take a look….

Thanks, Ella!
Paul, I would love to learn more about the company; I try to limit my investments to those that share my personal values and are delivering a valuable service, and Foodstuff looks like it might fit the bill; what’s your availability for a chat?

Hi Harish, Foodstuff is a delivery platform delivering for restaurants operating out of high street locations, as well as food trucks, pop-ups, and potentially dark kitchens… as long as those restaurants are not part of a chain or restaurant group, they must be independently owned.
-
Got it something similar to Zomato. Zomato is gearing up to start a new business offering which is called Zomato Kitchens(cloud Kitchen). This will be great diversification for delivery platform businesses.

Hi Harish, the main differences are that Foodstuff handle all the delivery and customer service themselves; and they limit themselves to a curated selection of independent restaurants, so they can provide dedicated account management and a consistently high quality service. They want to work with fewer restaurants exclusively, rather than work with more restaurants which use them alongside aggregators. Additionally, all of their delivery is zero emissions and they aim to be as ethical as possible in terms of workers’ rights.
