You’ve got a difficult decision to make 👀📚
We need you to pick our final book club read of the year – to help you make your decision we’ve shortlisted 3 books we’ve been dying to read along with a short synopsis…Â
📚 Sabotage by Emma GannonÂ
Sabotage is a book about silencing your inner critic and getting out of your own way. Gannon takes real stories from leading cultural voices and uses them to explore successes, setbacks, and the tendency we have as humans to put barriers in the way of our progression and happiness.Â
📚Â Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver BurkemanÂ
Labelled as time management for mortals, Burkeman argues that we obsess over our to-do-lists so much that we never get round to doing what actually counts. It rejects the idea of having to get everything done and instead focuses on creating a more meaningful life.Â
📚Â Flux: 8 Superpowers for Thriving in Constant Change by April RinneÂ
Rinne introduces 8 mindset shifts to help leaders adapt to change and uncertainty even in the most chaotic environments. From ‘run slower’ to ‘get lost’ and ‘create your portfolio career’ Rinne created these superpowers to help leaders realise their value, inspire their colleagues and keep them grounded even when the ground is moving beneath you.Â

I think the only reason I didn’t choose book 2 is because I’m living this! Funnily enough, I appeared in a podcast this morning about embodying the growth mindset and transitioning from doing to being. I’m now questioning if I am using this book club as a bit of a regular ”project meeting”, is this me being distracted and ticking off books that are deemed ”productive” or does it add enjoyment in some other capacity. But then, why can’t both exist..which is where I’ve settled. Maybe this book would be better for all of us!
