Alex Pitt is with Caoimhe Kelly
Hey everyone! I hope we’ve all had a great week so far. Had to share this recent branding project we’ve worked on, with a absolute hero of the community, Caoimhe Kelly. I in particular had so much fun working with Caoimhe on this, and she’s very kindly agreed to let me share her case study here.
We worked through two stages with Caoimhe to get to her finished brand design:
1. A Brand Ignition Session
2. Our ‘Underdog’ brand design package
In our Brand Ignition Sessions, we spend a total of 90 minutes across two calls, asking odd questions and ‘would you rathers’ so we can get to the core of what makes your brand tick. Caoimhe was a dream to work through this with, and gave us so many insights into the values and drive she was bringing to her work.
We learnt that Caoimhe had had to overcome a LOT of obstacles throughout her journey to starting her portfolio career, but that she never lost her childlike sense of wonder. There were some powerful themes coming up throughout the sessions, but the one that rang the most true with Caoimhe was this; ‘Overcoming challenges to find your magic’. Using everything we’d learned, we mapped out Caoimhe’s values, tone of voice, archetype combinations, and created 2x mood boards to show how it could all play out visually.
We jumped at the challenge of bring out Caoimhe’s magic and bold defiance in the face of the challenges she’d overcome. We used an otherworldly colour palette and refined font combo, as well as some magical design elements (spot the magic door) to bring Caoimhe’s personal brand to life.
Here’s what Caoimhe had to say:
“It was a creative adventure and brilliantly led. Having someone guide you through the process of really seeing the things that make your brand impactful is a real gift. The questions were interesting and fun and having the process explained as we went through and then the analysis also explained so clearly made it easy to understand and impossible not to feel seen in the results.
The Brand Ignition Session has helped me to see how I can present myself visually in a way that truly reflects who I am and what I believe in. Knowing that this piece of work is actually accessible now and that I have a direction for something I found so difficult to identify on my own has made it much easier for me to see a path forward.”
If you have any questions on the process we went through with Caoimhe, or you want to talk about your own branding journey, drop me a message!
Cheers, Alex
