Lexi Radcliffe-Hart posted in the group The Collective Shelf
With our extension to The Collective Shelf’s book club event (sign up for 26th Jan if you haven’t already) I wanted to do a bit of a check in before the festive period truly gets underway!
How have you found the book so far? Have you even started it? – it’s okay if you haven’t!
For me, like Duncan Dalzel-Job, I am loving the short and sweet nature compared so some of our other book choices.
I’ll admit, I put it off for quite a few weeks when it was announced as our next book, but it’s actually been on my TBR pile for MONTHS. Mildly shameful given that self-sabotage has been one of my big realisations of 2021, and here’s something that could actually help!
But, I’ve read it now. I read it one go, like ripping off a plaster. Not really the best way to read something that needs you to take action, but now I know it’s not scary, and it is helpful. I love how Emma peppers the advice with actions that are easy to take, baby step by baby step. So I’m planning to go back over it, do every exercise, and see how that sets me up for 2022.
If you’re not quite there yet but fancy an audible way in, check out this podcast. It comes at the problem of self-sabotage from a creative point of view but Emma’s advice is applicable no matter what the focus of your portfolio.
