Question on messaging platforms – has anyone found a tool suitable for work like slack/teams/whatsapp/telegram that also has a translate function similar to linkedin/facebook?

Since just 26 days ago, Telegram offers built-in translation. It needs to be enabled from settings. More info here: https://telegram.org/blog/reactions-spoilers-translations
Slack has a variety of apps that can help with this available from their marketplace: https://slack.com/apps/search?q=translate. Although many of them seem to offer some kind of free tier, looks like most of them are paid.
Another option would be to install the Google Translate browser extension, then translating text becomes as easy as highlight, right-click > Translate; done!
Not sure about other platforms, Google seems to echo Pete Domican’s recommendation.
Slatch does an auto translation into your native language, but I’ve never used it.
