Good afternoon Collective Shelfers
We thought we’d do something a bit different for our next book club poll and bring back some of the favourite runners up, the reads that were popular but just got pipped to the post you could say
We’re eager to get our teeth into any one of these three reads and we’re sure you are too. Check out their synopsis’ and let us know which one’s your number 1 in the comments
Traction by Gino Wickman
“Do you have a grip on your business, or does your business have a grip on you? In Traction you’ll learn the secrets of strengthening the six key components of your business. You’ll discover simple yet powerful ways to run your company that will give you and your leadership team more focus, more growth, and more enjoyment.”
Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman
Labelled as time management for mortals, Burkeman argues that we obsess over our to-do-lists so much that we never get round to doing what actually counts. It rejects the idea of having to get everything done and instead focuses on creating a more meaningful life.
Shoe Dog by Phil Knight
Memoir by the co-founder of Nike, Knight candidly tells the story of how he selling shoes from the boot of his car in Plymouth, led him to being co-founder of one of the biggest and most recognisable brands in the world. He talks about leadership, team work, setbacks and of course the many triumphs of his career, that began from starting something from nothing.
And don’t forget – our next book club call is taking place next Wednesday 30th of March at 1pm (GMT) – if you haven’t signed up yet click the link here: http://staging.the-portfolio-collective.com/events/the-collective-shelf-book-club/
