I’m a software engineer/engineering leader, but have jumped into the world of part-time work and building a portfolio career.
I was introduced to TPC because I’ve been writing about part-time work in the tech industry on my newsletter, Part-Time Tech. I write about why I think we’re going to see more of it, how to actually get PT jobs, why companies should hire PT, and also highlight people who have portfolio careers already. There’s also a podcast and YouTube channel with a few episodes.

Welcome Ernie. Looking forward to reading more about this. I agree that as companies do massive layoffs, they will find themselves with holes to fill in 2023 and basically find P/T or Temp workers, especially in IT.
Welcome Ernie Park, nice article. I for one need no convincing about the huge advantages of a portfolio career and no, it doesn’t all revolve around money.
