Hi everyone! I’m looking for connections…since launching my business I’ve found a new love for networking and coffee chats to find out what people are up to day-to-day in their business. Maybe its the part of me that misses the office environment (and chats by the water-cooler), but if you’d like a friendly hello over a virtual coffee give me a shout!

@Nicola and I had a virtual walk and talk meet up yesterday at lunchtime – worked a treat! – Nicola was in london and I in a park in Kent, the 30mins just flew by. Happy to repeat and make new friends

Would be great to have a coffee chat with you 🙂 Drop me a message!

Hey Alex, I have been a lot of virtual networking recently and would be delighted to talk biz. Please feel free to book a slot here https://calendly.com/zarir-zed-vakil/60min with me. I would be very pleased to talk. But beware I might pick your brains again on my story which I have been trying out!

Hi everyone,
So off the back of my post from a couple of weeks back, I’ve started building an online course that teaches the fundamentals of how Strange approach brand design for our clients.
This course will take you through:
▪️ The theory behind visual storytelling
▪️ How to bridge the gap between what you do and how your brand design will look
▪️ How to brief in a designer to create a meaningful identity for you
▪️ The fundamentals of design theory so you can understand what that designer delivers back to you
It’s essentially a ‘module 2’ to follow on from our Branding Masterclass with myself and Fiona, taking you into the design thinking.
I’ve already had a fair bit of interest in this so far and have some guinea pigs lined up to work through the course when it launches (thank you to my volunteers!)
If this sounds like something useful to you or anyone you know, I’ve set up a sign-up …

And Alex is pretty awesome so I would highly recommend to anyone who is struggling with their visual brand! 🙌🏽

Hi everyone! As the Branding Masterclass was such a success (I’m still reeling from the incredible ’why’ statements that came out of the 2x days) I’ve been thinking a lot recently on creating some more online teaching.
I’m curious to hear from the community- if you could learn one transformative thing for your business regarding branding/ creativity/ brand design, what would it be?
Or are there a few areas that you’re in the dark about, which you’d like to be able to learn in one place?

Very interesting question Alex! I would be interested to hear from Conrad Young, Carolin Greiner, Saira Chaudry, Duncan Dalzel-Job, Stephen Fleming, Barney, Ben Legg, Anthony Main, Andrew Wainstein, Kevin Withane, Jeff Jones

Hmm good question Alex, I’ll reply with a scenario which is very real….
Our company brand (see https://thedistance.co.uk) was knocked up by my wife (our Creative Director) as an emergency response to the decision to split with my previous business partner (6 years ago) whilst we were on holiday. It reflected the current market we are in (see nods back to Google Plays design images of past).
She is of the strong opinion and has been for years that we should consider a rebrand, b…

It’s a really good question to ask – is it about a design refresh or is there a fundamental communication problem that a rebrand would help to solve? p.s. I really like that website especially the typeface.

Hmmm good point. I guess fundimentally we both feel its a little tired and wasn’t put together with any great brand evaluation, more what felt right at the time. So its never felt a quality effort.
Thanks for the kind words Pete.

Much better to be in that position and be able to think about it than being pressured to change because it’s terrible and it’s losing business! Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thats a really interesting idea Anthony Main! I do have some thoughts on this of course 😅🖤

Probably worth exploring them then Alex. Let’s set up a call sometime soon.

You will both get on SO well! Highly recommend you both!

I’m wondering if any of our new members that came along to our Fireside on branding have any thoughts on this… John Cleary 📷 Kirsty Price Niya Alexander Daniel McBirnie Leah Fernandez Roosevelt Dsouza Chris Woodward Jackson Lynn Jake B Emma Tian Williamson Matteo Bisato Toni Mitchell @jessicamay ?

I’d love to get some insights on how STRANGE puts together the ingredients of a visual identity (that go beyond the logo and base brand ideas). Brand colours, aesthetic touchpoints, fonts etc. The step by step process to creating one and any important things to note along the way 🙂
-
Love this idea Conrad! So essentially, the framework behind building a visual identity?

I’ve commissioned a couple and worked on the implementation of a brand redesign across two large utility companies so –
How to put together a good brief for an agency and how to arrive at an appropriate budget for the design
Putting together an implementation plan for launch (which depends on what ’assets’ you have to rebrand).

It would be great to understand more about what my ideal client is looking for and how to channel that efficiently into my and my company’s brand

Hello all you lovely TPC crew. I have a community-networking-shaped hole in my life this Friday having enjoyed last week’s so much!
I’d love to fill up my diary over the next few weeks with coffee chats with anyone who would be up for connecting. In case we haven’t met- I run Creative agency Strange https://www.strangecreativestudio.com/ and nerd out over brand design (among other things)
Drop me a message if you’re up for it!

Hello to all my fellow portfolio crew! I’m looking for someone to give me a quote and I’m not sure who exactly, so please shout if this sounds like you.
Strange are pitching for a branding project that will involve naming a new branch of an existing business. We’ll be working on the brand strategy and visual elements, but I need a word-genius that has experience in naming new businesses.
Drop me a comment if this sounds like you! This is moving pretty quickly so I need to get some quotes together by EOP tomorrow.
Thanks and stay safe

If you haven’t already, Nicola Twiston Davies would be a great one to have a coffee chat with Alex Pitt as she is starting up her business.
