Catapult Course, who has done it? What was your reason for doing it and what did you hope to get out of the course?

      • Great question Darren Kirby and thanks for pinging me Ella Bernie … I just passed my 20 year anniversary of going portfolio Darren and am transitioning into a 6.0 version of myself (turning 60 this year … 2.0 thru 6.0 has corresponded roughly with each decade) … so I am doing catapult to help me with that. You might ask why when I have already been through so many successful transitions already?

I have always thought about the process as a labyrinth journey. Many people think a labyrinth is a maze with choice points where you consciously decide to turn left or right … actually, that’s not the case … with a labyrinth there is only one path to follow, which winds its way into the center and then back out again … sometimes it is so windy that you feel like you are going backwards!. I think about it as a simultaneous journey of winding my way inwards towards the center of myself, my story and my self-identity, and simultaneously winding my way outwards towards how I portray myself to the world and position my offerings. Each informs the other as a progression. The further in that I get to clarity, the more I can realign my offerings outwards. The further out that I get learning through experience, the more I feel my inward journey continuing. An inner journey and an outer journey unfolding symbiotically.

That is a really hard crazy-making journey to do alone and without some structured methodology and rigor. Which is what I find that Catapult provides. What’s that saying, “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”. Hope that helps.

    • Hi Darren,

I joined Catapult for two main reasons

      – To test and develop my ideas with others, my ’Why’, my approach, my strategy – the power of a good question has led to some great discussions.

      – To meet others along this journey, and to form relationships and connections. It’s the belief that together we can go further.

Joining the catapult group, was also a step into the unknown, outside of my comfort zone. There’s a time for reading articles, watching videos and reflecting on what I want to do – and then there’s time for Action. Joining catapult was a natural next step.
