Hi everyone,
I’m looking to take on a VA to help out with both personal / family tasks, but also for my portfolio work. Does have any recommendations as to how to make this work well? I’m particularly struggling with working out what tasks from our personal life can be efficiently delegated, and how we would do that in practice.
Thanks in advance!

I have used a VA before, for work only. Just like any resource that you employ, you need to discuss between you how each of you work and your expectations. If there are any major bugbears, or things that you or your VA are adverse to then its best to be upfront. This will be a close relationship so trust is paramount. I would also get them checked out CRB, DBS etc as you would any employee. Happy to have a chat if it would be of help.

we can assign the below mentioned personal tasks to a VA
•organizing events
•liaising with other family members,
•paying bills
•managing online banking, social media accounts
•overseeing any household staff,
•present buying and
•running errands
Assigning personal tasks are purely based on the trust we have towards the VA.

Big thank you to everyone here who helped me to get it together to build a personal website (I had been meaning to do something for a while but never managed to prioritise it). And thank you for the feedback so far. Here’s V1.1, any feedback much appreciated. https://www.drummondgilbert.com. Some of it makes me cringe, but in the words or Reid Hoffman ”If you’re not embarrassed by your first version, you’ve launched too late!”

Website looks good. A few things I would point out. You free to Zoom?

Hi Stephen, would really appreciate that, thanks. Do you have any time tomorrow? If so, selecting a time here will set up a Zoom https://calendly.com/drummondgilbert/30min

I spotted a small typo on your page – a missing ’r’ here: ”Does you brand stand for something?”

Thanks for pointing that out Sarah, much appreciated and now changed.
