One of my portfolio roles is as Regional Ambassador for Capital Pilot. It sounds very grand, but I don’t get to attend any glamorous cocktail parties!

Capital Pilot is an investment assessment boutique (www.capitalpilot.com). We have recently launched the Boost Fund, which I think will be of interest to members of TPC who are setting up their own company and those advising, coaching and mentoring the founders of startups, who are looking to raise investment. 

Key information on the fund is:

£50,000 investment available to 100 UK companies (total fund £5 mil)

Now open for applications; sector agnostic

2.5% deal fee deducted from the £50,000

Advanced subscription agreement used, so the lead investor prices the round

Application is through Capital Pilot’s Investability Rating (minimum rating 750 out of 1,000 to qualify)

£150 charge applies for the rating report (reduced to £100 with my unique code)

Optional service to support Boost Fund investees to complete their funding round quickly and efficiently

Applications can also be routed through the Capital Pilot website (after assessment and rating they will automatically qualify for the fund if their rating is high enough). 

The 24 page report addresses four key business areas: market, business opportunity, scalability and executability, to build a rating.

The process is very quick and simple:

Short on-boarding questionnaire which takes about 10 minutes to complete

Upload presentation and financial model after completing the questionnaire

Sit back and wait for Capital Pilot to do the work and produce the assessment

Who knows, you could successfully access your first £50,000 of external investment and unlock your scale-up journey.
