I got so much value from the group discussion yesterday!! I mentioned that I need to get a digital business card now that in person networking is fully back. Some great suggestions from the group which I looked at today. Even a non tech person like me has produced some that is good for now. It was easy ! I will probably move one of the paid and better ones quite soon but this is a good starting point. Thanks all (especially Ryan and Ella).

    • Glad you’ve found one Nrinder and so handy that the one you’ve chosen pulls up a mini profile on what you do and how to get in touch – looks great 🙌

    • Thanks for the heads up. Very useful. I’m on it as I too wanted to go digital with cards. The other neat trick is on LinkedIn that many don’t know in terms of live sharing of profiles by scanning.

      • Can you tell us more Zed/give us some pointers … I’m interested to know more. Thx,

        • To scan a QR code:

Open the LinkedIn app on your mobile device.

Tap the QR code in the Search bar at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.

          Tap the SCAN tab.

          Tap ENABLE CAMERA ACCESS. …

Hold your mobile device directly above the LinkedIn member’s QR code that you’d like to connect with.

I have used this a lot in F2F networking instead of business cards. The other useful function if you are running an event (and even if you are not) and you want to invite everyone to connect you can use the Find Nearby function, though at the moment I cannot seem to bring it up on my phone perhaps because I am WFH and there is no one in range of bluetooth.

          • EXCELLENT! Thanks so much Zed. I was reluctant to get new business cards as I have such a varied portfolio which is morphing/refining in emphasis and look/feel to some degree all the time … so I was even reluctant to do an electronic business card … now I don’t have to! I will use this LinkedIn QR Code as that and focus on keeping my LinkedIn profile current in the flow of morphing/refining. Plus, I’ll be able to impress my friends at dinner parties that I am so tech savvy! THANK YOU.

      • Zed, To make that simple digital business card, I used : https://beacons.ai

Its easy to do (even I did it!) and good to get started. Its also free

There are other similar platforms to use and I will probably migrate to https://popl.co/. quite soon as it got much more and suited to what I need. Its much better being versatile as it connects to a database of choice. This one is still quite a modest annual sum for a business card tool and much more.

I just need someone to help me do it or time so I can work it out.

        regards
