Hi All, Happy Tuesday!
I am looking for a keynote speaker for SPVS – The Society of Practicing Veterinary Surgeons (in the UK). It is a not for profit veterinary association focusing on leadership (https://spvs.org.uk ). We dont have a huge budget. I am on the advisory board. Anyone here has any ideas who may be a good speaker or perhaps anyone in this community interested? :):)

Live session, not remote. event is January 2023.
key problem in the profession – recruitment and retention crisis. burnout and stress. overwork. underpaid. and many vets undervalue themselves. vets suicide rate is 4 times the national average in uk. a normal day rate for a rate is £300 as a locum freelancer (let alone employed). …here i bet most would charge that per hour. and a lot of these vets are 10+years qualified with numerous degrees and specialisations, and its a private …

Hi Silvia. I wonder if there’s an itch that needs scratching? What’s the one wicked problem vets would like to get on top of these days? Is there a main threat to their careers/profession that they’re currently up against?
Could this give you a hint who to look for?
When is the event. And are you thinking live or remote…?

Hello friends!
Does anyone here know about white label software?
Its my next step for Flexee and i have an investor interested if i can create a product relatively quick, and it can be white labeled to start with, and i also have many vet practices (customers)….lol just dont have the product yet. So i am thinking of craeting some kind of bundle from white label softwares but i know nothing about doing this, i just know its possible (
is a fully white labeled solution for example, they have proven concept with it, and now are staring to code their own). Do you know much about this or anyone I could talk to about this? Thank you!!
Silvia x

I’ve worked with a few companies who have offered white label versions of their products, happy to chat sometime, just message me
-
Silvia, there are some freemium Low-Code Application Platforms out there that you might consider. Most require some technical skill to start, but are relatively easy to use. I am not sure if this is what you are thinking about, but I am happy to discuss, if interested.

Did you look at Virtual Recall’s offer to vet practices? Their solution integrates with the PMS but the construct was heavily oriented around the local brand. You may find some clues on how they white-labelled or at least a relevant and working example.

I’ve led product teams through white labelling before. Happy to offer help.

I can’t believe how many Monday meetups I’ve now missed! I really like engaging which is awesome community, so im updating my schedule and keeping in mind i want to attend Monday and Friday sessions again as much as possible! 😀 😀
On a personal note, my flexible working consultancy is going well and for one of my projects (with about 63 veterinary practices) i am setting up various flex work pilot trials. I am looking for an HR expert to consult with when it comes to some of the legalities/contracts & job design. Anyone in our network here who would like to help?
If yes, let me know and lets book in for a quick intro call: https://calendly.com/innoveting/30min
Thanks!!
Have a great week everyone!

I wonder if anyone here has any insight or able to direct regarding self-employed vs employed taxation/benefits? I am set up as a self employed (sole trader) consultant but work a lot with one particular startup and i have an opportunity to be employed (part time) or continue as self employed/hour rate or retainer. I dont know whats best when it comes to IR35 and best taxation status. Anyone has any tips please?

IR35 doesn’t apply to sole traders, as I understand it, but my best advice is to find a friendly accountant who can advise on your particular circumstances.

Hi Silvia Janska. Everyone’s circumstances are different, but – so far – I have never seen a situation for a portfolio professional that was more tax efficient to be an employee, other than in the early days of having a lightweight side hustle (generating little income so – in effect – being tax free) alongside your day job.
If things are picking up I would also suggest considering setting up a limited consulting company – you seem to be able to legally expense m…
-
Silvia Janska I always find this an interesting one because for me it is broader than just the tax it is also the liability issues and the benefits that accrue in both cases.
My portfolio is a mix of employed, contracting through an umbrella company and contracting through a personal service company. This combination allows me to be compliant where I am an officer of the company ( for tax an employee), gain benefits such as furlough where needed and limit my legal exposure without the need for hig…
