Dear TPC ers (Don’t we have a mash name yet or anything?) – This was published on LinkedIn today, and whilst tongue in cheek, it occurred to me that it would be profound in this group and continue in my passion to inspire and navigate start up and scale up founders, CEOs, leaders and their investors, in their entrepreneurial (ad)ventures. Promise its short.

Nice article Zed, feels like you are there in the room speaking to me. Product-market fit is really only the business activity to be done in the early days. I likewise know from my own learning! Hope you have some interesting project on the go.

Thanks Laura – I told you I’d haunt you. I am thinking of turning this into a series of blogs/casts/vids etc as I have a rich vein of content!

Great read, Zed. Some food for thought for sure. ”Build it and they will come” is as popular as it is ridiculous.

Really interesting article, thanks for sharing Zed! Her last answer to having a freelance CEO reminds me of what Ben Legg posted recently about ’fractional CMOs’

I have been loosely connected to an organisation called Eastside Primetimers for the last few years.
They are currently looking to find someone with digital marketing skills who wants a freelance opportunity to add to their portfolio. The time commitment varies but is about 2 days a month (half a day a week), so not that onerous, and its paid. The work involves doing the behind the scenes stuff for the website (Squarespace), maintaining their LinkedIn site and Twitter feed. Are you or know someone who might find this interesting? You/They need to be a blend of techie and marketing. Contact Brent Thomas, Trustee Director, Eastside Primetimers Foundation Mob: 07775 821974 Office: 0845 4563885 Email: [email protected]. I’ve had lots of experience with CRM for sales teams. However, less sure what is currently on the market for ’solopreneurs’ (i.e.folks like us) looking to manage their prospect pipeline in a similar way, preferably freemium. Anyone got some stellar recommendations and why? Any advice would be much appreciated and augment the ’Google’ search.

I am a big fan of Pipedrive. We use it for 1) our fundraise (investor pipeline), 2) partnerships and 3) recruiters looking for talent
-
Yep I’m with Ben – Pipedrive has been a favourite of mine for years now. Coming from a Salesforce background, Pipedrive is definitely much simpler for smaller databases and pipelines
