Who can help with feedback on how to compensate startup advisors?
We have a key advisor that is asking for a bit too much in our opinion, but then again he is pretty unique in his field so we are humming and hawing on what to do. Has anyone dealt with this and has some advice?

Thanks Ben! We just raised a pre-seed, and while we can probably ’wing’ it for a while, my preference would be for a part time CFO that:
– sets up the books
– liaises with the tax advisor
– deal with payroll (which we could possibly outsource, but then the vendor will need to be managed by the CFO, and we don’t want too much complexity early on)
– prepares monthly reporting to the board
– tracks and monitors spending.
